A letter from our President, Gina Waldhorn

Hello Quirksters!

It’s been awhile since we last really spoke about what’s going on with Quirky, but that’s no indication of our commitment to you, and to making invention accessible. Over the past several months we’ve been laying the foundation for bringing you an enhanced and revitalized Quirky. That foundation includes honoring old royalty payments, shoring up our leadership team, and initiating development work on an improved website. We’re planning on creating an easier submission process, and new ways for the community to collaborate and innovate together. We’ve made some great progress, and you can read about some of these changes in this recent Wall Street Journal article or our press release.

We’ve also found a new home for our growing team (check us out below)!

As we work towards an enhanced Quirky we are going to be accepting volunteers to help us BETA the new platform functionalities we’re exploring. If you’re interested in volunteering, make sure to be on the lookout for next month’s newsletter where we’ll have a link to join.

We can’t tell you how much you mean to us. Well, actually we can. You mean a lot. A TON. We’ve got big plans for Quirky, and you’re a part of them. Thank you for your continued support, and we can’t wait to show you what comes next.

Sincerely,

Gina Waldhorn

President, Quirky

Hello Quirky!
I I initially became obsessed with you while watching the Sundance channel on cable TV one day. I loved your program. People who think the way I do, I thought, about the design, and feel of objects. The sheer beauty of form, the ease of function and the inspiration by which these qualities instantly inform and massage our minds with the understanding of just how much thought, creativity and labor was afforded each and every product undertaking. And then, just like that you were gone from my television viewing lineup! Not an infrequent occurrence these days but, I’ve discovered you anew as, i was always going to look you up on the web but somehow, time and tests of health interfered.
I do own some of your products which I discovered serendipitously around Las Vegas and for that i am thankful. I do however, posess several devices I was seriously considering submitting to your organization for their perusal and I’m hoping that the opportunity will avail itself in the future. I’m an artist, designer, now retired and a disabled veteran of the US Army. If nothing else, I am glad to finally connect with Quirky once again.

I am so glad to see you are reinvesting time and energy into this venture. I hope you all consider changing the name and requirements to both inventions and not posting ideas that are obviously repeats or would not even vonsider manufactoring. That is a waste of our time and cheapens the process.
Thanks again for continueing this dream for us inventors!
